The senior management team - Lee, Dave and Bill - have worked together for more than 20 years. Combined, the team at MEG has over 250 years of engineering experience.

Lee Millies of Millies Engineering Group

Lee Millies

P.E., LEED AP BD+C


Lee Millies worked part time for R.L. Millies & Assoc. as a design draftsman during his high school and college years. After receiving his BSME degree in 1980 from Valparaiso University, he accepted the opportunity to be a Design Engineer and Project Manager for a respected Chicago HVAC contractor, which gave him great practical experience, from design through installation.

Lee rejoined R.L. Millies and Associates consulting engineering firm in 1984 as a Mechanical Project Engineer, Manager and Vice President. Currently he is President, CEO and Principal/Owner of Millies Engineering Group.

His leadership guides our design team’s efforts to clearly define each client and end user’s needs, goals, and expectations. Lee has extensive experience in analysis and design for all types of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, for LEED certified projects, and various educational, medical, municipal and light industrial projects.

Lee serves his profession through ASHRAE: Local Chapter Officer, Society Technical Committees and Director & Regional Chair representing Region V of the Society (2010-2013). He also serves on various boards including Munster Rotary Club, Engineering National Council for Valparaiso University and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Lee’s dedication to serving others flows from his love for family and his faith.

Bill Hromada of Millies Engineering Group

Bill Hromada P.E.

Bill earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Illinois Institute of Technology while working for a mechanical contracting firm. He joined a large architectural and engineering firm in Chicago, started his own design firm, and later joined the Millies team in 1991 as a Project Engineer and Manager. Bill enjoyed his leadership roles as Director of Engineering and Senior Associate before becoming a partner in Millies Engineering Group in 2006.

Bill brings over 30 years of experience in the design of mechanical HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems. He has extensive engineering experience in educational, healthcare, municipal and most other markets. He oversees all aspects of mechanical design for the firm.

He plays an active role in the local ASHRAE Chapter and is involved in the leadership of his local Christian high school.

Dave Janney of Millies Engineering Group

Dave Janney

P.E., LEED AP BD+C, CLEP


Dave joined the firm in 1988 just prior to pursuing his degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. As his experience grew, he took on additional responsibilities including leading the Technical Services Department, developing the Computer Information Systems, and eventually leading the Electrical Division.

Dave’s commitment to the success of Millies Engineering Group continues to grow. His passion for engineering and design is evident in his desire to grow his knowledge through educational opportunities and participation in various professional conferences and organizations.

As Electrical Department Head, Partner and Vice President of Millies Engineering Group, Dave is a leader in the firm’s sustainability initiative, as well as developing a focus on technology integration within the built environment. He finds great satisfaction in the relationships he forms throughout the industry.
