We excel at innovative system design and analysis of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and technology systems for all types of commercial, multi-family residential, light industrial and institutional buildings. Project design administration includes coordination with associated architectural and structural services to provide integrated plans and specifications of these systems.
Several of our engineers hold LEED AP certification from the U.S. Green Build Council. This training ensures advanced knowledge of efficient "green" designs featuring the highest standards of building performance with particular expertise in the Building Design and Construction (BD+C) rating systems. The firm is proud to have played a key role in numerous LEED certified projects. In addition to LEED design services, we also provide Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning.
Using CADD computer aided design and drafting, we offer digitizing of existing facility drawings, development of standards, details and plotting services. We use the latest technology and software available to offer 4D Building Information Modeling to design and share collaborative databases from concept to construction.
The scope of our service spans the entire job from initial concept through owner occupancy, including review of bid documents, pre-bid meetings, bid evaluation, shop drawing review, job progress meetings, field observation reports, project close-out and as-built drawings.
We survey existing buildings to conduct a thorough energy analysis including computerized operating cost analysis, recommendations for energy efficient modification and cost payback analysis including life cycle costing.
In addition to our professional licensure LEED AP and AEE certifications, one of MEG’s engineers is CPMP
(Commissioning Process Management Professional) certified via ASHRAE. The CPMP certification (an ANSI accredited
certification program) gives us a competitive edge as it validates our competency in critical building commissioning
knowledge, skills and abilities.
This specialized training improves our engineer’s knowledge and expertise in the HVAC&R industry, which helps us better serve our clients through all project phases. This certification also assures project owners can feel confident about our engineer’s ability to develop and manage the entire building commissioning process.
We feature detailed engineering analysis for the evaluation of alternative energy sources and energy conservation measures as they relate to each client’s energy utilization needs. We utilize advanced computer simulation software to evaluate the energy performance of various building systems and their associated life cycle cost.
Lighting design is constantly evolving with stricter energy codes, innovative lighting technologies and environmental restrictions. Our many years of lighting design experience enable us to implement our client’s aesthetic vision while meeting both energy and financial budgets.
We provide detailed engineering analysis and recommendations for facilities with existing problems related to the heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems. Then, a prioritized list of recommended system repairs and upgrades is prepared with estimates of associated construction costs to assist the owner in master planning.
We conduct evaluations of new and existing buildings to confirm the facilities have the specific features necessary to comply with life safety and M/E/P code requirements. We prepare a list of deficiencies and associated construction cost to assist the owner in planning.
We identify sustainable solutions and energy conservation options, educating building owners so they can make informed investment decisions to improve the efficiency of existing facilities.
Our extensive experience with electrical and mechanical systems gives us the practical knowledge to quickly solve system problems and offer effective and lasting solutions. In addition to providing complete commissioning services for mechanical and electrical systems, the building envelope and related components can also be included.
